Dear Friends,

The devastating earthquake suddenly hit us on April 25. Trust you, your
family and your loved ones are all safe.

We, with the help of several other people, have been working almost 18
hours a day right after the earthquake with a hope to save lives.
OpenStreetMap has served almost a default map in this crisis. Over 4500
people from all over the world have mapped Nepal since April 25.
Coordinating and engaging those many people has been both a challenge and
satisfying experience. Once more, it has shown how fast open community can
self-organize, work and make a difference!

This work has been extensively covered in news including New York Times.
