Would this change only happen once the DBP-workflow branch is complete? If there is at all a chance that history could be destroyed and this change makes it impossible for such an event to occur, it might be worth the inconvenience, however, it should be widely publicized that a significant change has happened in the release which requires rebuild. In addition, it might be a good idea to list the implications of rebuild (if any)---I can only think of one significant one which is that any shunned content that has not yet undergone rebuild will disappear completely. What does such a change mean for Fossil hosters like Chiselapp?
