If so, do you know this this would would work? I don't see any
relevant document or wiki about drive by patching/patches so I don't
know how it works. I'm willing to contribute any documentation efforts
if I know how it works.

Good luck at the doctor! I'm sure you're ready to operate at 100% now.
By the way, what keyboard layout do you use? Some say the Dvorak
keyboard can/does(??) result in less strain since the keys are aligned
for computer usage and not typewriters, such as with qwerty.
