Mark,
I'm not sure if you're the right person to ask this question but you
helped me back in August. I'm hoping that you would at least now
who's the right person to ask. I had already installing version 1.0
on Ubuntu 8.04 in another machine without problems.
In this other machine (which is a remote machine so I'm not sure of
the hardware), also running Ubuntu 8.04, the pkgmetagetta agents had
never run because of the issue with the extractor library. Since that
agent is not really necessary for the license analysis, I used to
simply comment out the pkgmetagetta line in Scheduler.conf. While
doing the installation for version 1.0, I ran fo-postinstall and got
the following error:
*FATAL: Failed to load default extractor libraries.*
* FATAL: '/usr/local/lib/fossology/agents/pkgmetagetta -i' failed to
initialize*
I commented out the pkgmetagetta line and ran *fossology-scheduler -t*
and didn't got any errors. However when I tried to start the
scheduler, the scheduler process died every time. The *fossology.log*
has the following error:
*FATAL: Agent type 'pkgmetagetta' not in Scheduler.conf.*
* FATAL: Inconsistent agent(s) detected.*
If I add the pkgmetagetta line back in *Scheduler.conf* then the error
is the following:
*FATAL: Scheduler error: Unable to access license cache
'/var/local/lib/fossology/agents/License.bsam'*
* FATAL: Inconsistent agent(s) detected.*
That seems to indicate that the installation didn't finished. My
question is what do I have to do to install and run FOSSology 1.0
without the pkgmetagetta agent? Any help will be appreciated.
Regards.

Jose,
Sorry, I'm buried in the middle of some things. I have cc'ed the
fossology mailing list. There are others who have just recently dealt
with your issue, I'm sure they will respond as soon as they can.
Mary? Matt? Didn't we just see this? I don't recall the solution.
