This seems to be unique to Debian (at least it's not in OpenSUSE or RHEL).

The documentation I found says

>       --gecos GECOS
>              Set the gecos field for the new entry generated.
>                  adduser  will not ask for finger information if
>                  this option is given.

This is just something that shows up in the documentation (INSTALL file), 
right? If you're doing RPM's for systems that don't have it, then I think you 
could safely just omit it.

I ahve one problem I'm seeing in the test I'm currently making (sorry took 
times on my side as well, as I needed to make some patches to project-builder 
to support what I neede fully).

Seems this is not a portable option (especially on CentOS 5 I'm testing now).

Could you look at this ?

I still have other problems that needs to be solved on my side before 
publishing a package usable by others (hopefully).
