Hello, I found the issue related to postgresql start in my package on CentOS 5.
On CentOS, when the package postgresql-server is not yest install it configure itself at install time to create all conf files correctly. So if you modify it before it's created, it then fails ! The trick is to modify the conf files *after* you started postgresql (which will then create what is necessary in case it wasn't launched before) and then change that setup and *restart* postgresql. Generating new rpm for CentOS 5 right now.
