Hi Greg,
FOSSology is a tool to allow you to analyze your own uploads. We do not (at
this time) provided a populated repository of previously analyzed packages like
BlackDuck or OpenLogic. Many FOSSology users perform license analysis on their
own in-house software to verify license compliance OR on software they've
acquire through a merger/acquisition to evaluate their legal risk and
responsibility.

Subject: [FOSSology] Empty Software Repository?

Hi,

The Fossology installation comes with an empty software repository.

Are you saying that the Fossology Knowledge Base (KB) is empty (compare to the
commercial tools such as Blackduck's Protex that comes with about 220K open
source software packages (components))?

Does that means there is not software packages to browse or compare?

If so, do you plan to add open source software packages in future Fossology
releases (perhaps by spidering the web just like the commercial tools do such
as Blackduck)?

Thanks,
Gregorio
