Let me make sure I understand. Build 5910 was working fine, you made no
changes to fossology but now you are getting a "Missing uploadtree parent for
upload xx" on every file you try. Is that right?

This is caused by an unpack crash. The first thing to do is check the unpack
log file. Go into Jobs > My Recent Jobs and click on the number on the far
left of the ununpack line. That should bring up "Geeky Scan Details". What
does it say under "Log"?

Assuming it doesn't say much, you will want to jack up the verbosity. In
/etc/init.d/fossology you will see a line:

SCHEDULEROPT="--daemon --reset --verbose=1"

Change the --verbose from 1 to 952. The restart the scheduler (sudo
/etc/init.d/fossology restart).

Now upload the smallest file you can (because this verbosity can generate a
large log file) and check the Log under Geeky Scan Details. Also check the
scheduler log file /var/log/fossology/fossology.log.
