Perhaps using git-svn may be a "temporary" solution for the time being ?

SourceForge (who hosts FOSSology source code for us) does now offer an
integrated git repository [1].  When we originally set up the FOSSology
project "back in the day" (2007, to be precise), that was not an option.

However I don't think there is an easy way to have both a Subversion and
a git repository working together simultaneously.  We would most likely
need to abandon our existing subversion repo and move everything over to
git.
