We are pleased to announce the general release of FOSSology 2.5.0 (see the included 2.5.0-RC1 announcement for a list of what is new in this release).
There was only one change made between RC1 and this general release. We found a bug that prevented the license_ref table from being populated in brand new installs. This is fixed in this general release. If you are not familiar with the license_ref table, it contains the text of the majority of licenses that we report. This data is not used by the nomos license scanner, but it is used in the license browser to display the text of the canonical license when you click on the license name. People thank us all the time for our prompt support. We would like to thank you for all your comments, questions, patches, bug reports, wiki updates, etc. This makes FOSSology better for everyone. The next release will continue to include the usual bug fixes and scanner updates. We are also looking at: 1) Better build system integration 2) Making it easier to create and manage buckets 3) Auto archive/delete uploads 4) Vulnerability scan If any of these sound interesting to you, please let us know your thoughts. This is an easy way for you to help drive FOSSology development.
