To all FOSSology users, Several versions ago we deprecated the bSAM license scanner and stopped including bSAM in our general packaging. However, you could still manually install the bSAM user interface to access any old data you might have. In our next release, 2.6.0 targeted for Sept 9, we are planning to remove it completely. As part of this I would like to delete the bsam tables from your fossology database.
If you have a problem with this please respond to this list or me personally. bSAM was deprecated in version 1.3.0 January 2011, so everyone should have had plenty of time to migrate off of it. Given this length of time I don’t expect this announcement to bother anyone. But if you have data that old and this causes you a problem, please let me know. Otherwise, it will be gone.
