Hi, I of course have no problem with a web form for requesting sponsorship, but I would like to see us have, like the Linux Foundation, something that people sign which lists the obligations they have in return for travel support (actually attending, for example - I don't want to see us reimbursing people for empty plane seats).
A written agreement is also important for the person who is travelling, since it commits the foundation to reimbursing and states before the trip what will be reimbursed, when. If there had not been some contentiousness in the past on what was covered and what wasn't, and when reimbursement would happen, this might not be necessary. Doing this informally in the past has, however, resulted in problems, which we should try to avoid in the future. Cheers, Dave.
