Some months ago, when we were brining Stormy on board, she asked the board about how she could be more transparent and involved in the community, and IRC came up in that context.
One thing I said at the time, which may be worth revisiting if there are general concerns about board transparency, is that maybe maybe we should have Fedora-style public board IRC meetings? They (sort of) describe what they do at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Board/IRC ; as I understand it every other board meeting is held in public-but-moderated IRC; transcripts are cleaned up and made available later. I'm particularly interested to hear from folks who are members of both communities- are these useful/valuable over there? Anything you'd change?
