I would submit that they would happen regardless of whether the thread
was open or closed to be honest.

While I agree, part of my point was that discussions and decision-making may not be as transparent as it looks like from the outside. So I don't see any reason to keep the transparency that we know is not really there. I'm more interested in being responsible than being transparent. And I think Stormy and Germán have been doing a great job in that front.
