I'm using 08.0.01pT53 on IronCore B8GMR3 in BigIron 15000 and BigIron 8000 and doesn't seem any worse off than 7.x. It added "dual mode" ports which I need for VOIP vlan. I experienced some ARP cache corruption on our Cisco ASA5550 firewall from the DMZ vlan so I moved the vlan to a separate switch and the problem stopped.
I did go through recommended upgrade steps for the versions: upgrade to 7.8.03e. 7.6.05 boot code, 7.6.01b, 7.8.03e and get release notes for 7.8.03e.
