hi,

almost all of my EdgeIron 4802CF show:

  POST result:
UART Loopback Test......................PASS
Timer Test..............................PASS
DRAM Test ..............................PASS
I2C Initialization......................PASS
Runtime Image Check ....................PASS
PCI Device Check .......................PASS
Switch Driver Initialization............PASS
Switch Internal Loopback Test........... FAIL
------------------- DONE --------------------

even as it shows a failed status, the switch seems to work propoerly.

can anyone please explain the meaning of the "Switch Internal Loopback
Test"?

thanks,
raoul

This is a very common error with this switch, normally a cold reboot will fix the issue but I've yet to see it cause any real effect on the traffic passing through the device. I have however seen it disrupt ip based management to the device (i.e. telnet, snmp, etc). As for a detailed meaning of what that test is doing, I can't help you there.
