Hi, I'm curious if the foxboard has enough performance to perform all the following tasks:
playback mp3 files in software (libmad?) through an USB Audio-Interface with the mp3 files residing on an IDE harddisk I've not yet purchased a foxboard and I'd like to know in advance wether it provides enough performance for this task or not. I'd highly appreciate if someone owning a foxboard could try playing an mp3 file (possibly through an USB Audio-Interface) with libmad (see: http://www.underbit.com/products/mad/ ) and provide me with the cpu load numbers and if it works or not. I'm planning to build a custom battery powered mp3-player with IDE harddisk and USB Host interface in order to attach memory sticks/USB MP3 Players - if someone knows a better platform/chip to realize such a system please reply. Regards, Shane
