Does anyone work with a gyro?

My problem is:

I would evaluate the angular velocity of the protoboard (mounted on
the foxboard)  and the angular when the protoboard stops.

I saw that Murata does  rotary sensors but in that case those sensor
has to be mounted near gear for example...

I'm looking for a gyro or maybe another kind of sensor,  
I know that an accelerometer is to heavy for the foxboard, I mean lot
of calculations..
