Hey,

Perhaps you should elaborate on the type of "sharing" that you would like to 
do? Why not do it the traditional UNIX way? Simply place the data that you want 
to share in a file from one application, and read it from another. 

You'll need to consider:
- access permissions
- concurrent access

When you use sockets you'll have a lot more to consider.
