I also had similar problems when I installed the SDK on Slackware 12.0.
Finally I solved them in this way:
I replaced the original pmake of Slackware 12.0 with
pmake-1.45-i386-16fib.tgz (taken from the Acmesystems website; even though for
Slackware 11.0, it seems to work on Slackware 12.0).
I downloaded from Axis website the new sources of cris-dist and I recompiled
with Slackware 12.0 (maybe it was not necessary; you can try if
cris-dist-1.63-1.i386-1fib.tgz works).
I removed "json-c" from the Fox configuration.
That is what I did. Surely there are other ways, which I don't know.
Let me know how you solve the problem.

PS: It could be great if the installation instructions on the Acmesystems
website are updated with the new releases of the GNU/Linux distributions (e.g.
Slackware 12.0).
