No you won't be able to ping the board in network flash mode..but it should work regardless of what you do to the flash as that jumper enables some code in a non writable section of the chip (AFAIK) Have you followed the instructions on the foxboard website to the letter ? If they don't work it is starting to look like either a misconfiguration on your sdk or a fault foxboard.
