Stan, The AW should be in both files, but with different names. Here's my AW51c's /etc/aplns: 1AW51C# cat /etc/aplns 1AWAPA 1AWAPB 1AWAPC 1AW51E Here's my AW51c's /etc/wplns 1AW51C# cat /etc/wplns 1AWWPA 1AWWPB 1AWWPC 1AWWPE As you can see, * the AP logical name of my AW 51c is 1AWAPC. * The WP logical name is 1AWWPC. If you just count lines, you get that I have 8 stations on the network, but there are really only 4. After some thought, I think you might be better off using /usr/fox/sp/hldb file. You could count station types to get what you need. For example, grep 409 /opt/sys/sp/hldb | wc -l would yield the number of WP51s on the system. grep 40[2-9] /opt/sys/sp/hldb | wc -l would work for all WPs on the system.
