Yes, we have a number of these connections in operation using the Black Box
RS232/485 converter, so far they seem very reliable, although we do get
occasional bad reads on some links that could be due to poor
cabling/shielding or termination.

Just for info, B&B Electronics has a very good document describing RS422 and
485 communication and faultfinding I would really recommend, it is available
for free download on their homepage www.bb-europe.com

Subject: Communication between Micro I/A and Micro Motion

Hi All,

I'm looking for a help......

We're trying to use micro I/A (modbus) to interface a Micro Motion device.
To allow the communication between micro I/A and Micro Motin we're trying
to use a Black Box RS232/RS485 Converter instead of J485 modem.... (Please
don't ask why because I have no ideia....).

My question is: Has anyone made a connection with micro I/A and Micro Motion
using a Black Box converter ?????

Thanks in advance,

Suzi
