Hi list,

We are in process to install a real time data base (PI) in our refinery in
order to integrate all the information existing, for example Foxboro I/A
DCS, Factory Link, Honeywell TPS, etc.
We need information about the parameter "Location1" on PI configarion with
FoxAPI that describes:

This parameter is the result of calculating (n*100 + x ) where n is the
computer number in the range 1 to 99 and x is the IA interface number or
gateway number. The computer number associates PI tags with an interface and
is an arbitrary parameter that is set in the interface script file
fxbais.sh. The gateway number ranges from 1 to m, the maximum number of
gateways set by the Foxboro AIS. A gateway number associates PI tags with a
DNBI or an INI and corresponds to a gateway number configured in AIS. For
the interface the gateway numbers are configurable parameters in the script
file fxbais.sh. The two values combine to give a range for Location1 of 101
to 9900+m. The interface does not use the AIS options of load leveling and
automatic assignment of gateway numbers.

Some one knows what is the "gateway number" in a configuration for a DCS I/A
Foxboro?

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Eudilson Nunez
