Alan,

I hope the HH845 will help you.
You have to change the MAC address for each hosted CP of this station.

Regards,
Steffen

Subject: Changing Host's PSAP Addesses in a CP
 Source: SDE

Upon changing out a 50 or 51 series station, a situation is created where
the FBMs on any CP hosted by that station can no longer be downloaded.
This is because changing out a 50/51 series station will change the MAC
address of that station. The download request is not answered because the
old MAC address can not be found. When a CP is rebooted, it records the
MAC address of it's boot host. Therefore, rebooting a CP will allow it's
FBMs to download.

At V4.1.1 with QF7723 or greater, or at V4.2.1 or greater, the CP contains
a global variable that represents the MAC address of the host station.
This is referred to as the saved host's MAC address. The cp_utl utility
located in the /opt/fox/bin/tools directory can be used to change this
variable to match the MAC address of the new host station and allow the
FBMs to download without rebooting the CP.

************************************************************************
Note: This procedure can only be used with a CP image of V4.2.1 or
greater or at V4.1.1 with QF7723 or greater.
************************************************************************

1) Change to the /opt/fox/bin/tools directory:
# cd /opt/fox/bin/tools

2) Get and record the saved host's PSAP address of each CP that is hosted
by a new AP/AW:
# cp_utl -gm -oh -p[CP lbug]_STA:STATION.APPSAP
The result is the PSAP address: xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx.

3) Get and record the MAC address of each new AP/AW:
# ckmacadr
Each AP/AW's MAC address is printed at runtime. This utility also produces
two reports, ckmacadr.ok and ckmacadr.err. Each AP/AW's MAC address will
be stored in one of these two files.

4) Set the saved host's MAC address in each CP to match the MAC address of
the new host AP/AW:
# cp_utl -sm -oh -p[lbug]_STA:STATION.APPSAP xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
xx xx xx yy yy yy yy yy yy xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
where yy yy yy yy yy yy represents the 12 byte MAC address of the new host
AP/AW that was recorded in step 3. The remaining part of the PSAP address
(the xx's) is to be entered in identical to what was recorded in step 2.

5) Verify that the saved host's MAC address of each CP matches the MAC
address of the new host AP/AW. Verify that the ckmacadr.ok file contains
all AW/APs and hosted CPs and that the CP_VERSION of the host MAC address
matches the AP_VERSION.
# ckmacadr
# more ckmacadr.ok
