I am not opposed to a membership fee.

But I seems that what I paid for others got for free. I know there
was some sort of compensation tied to going to the convention ??? but
I don't know really what that was and if it really compensated those
original members. Which was about 70 members now there are 600.

In fact I would have paid that membership fee each year as an annual
due. In opening it up for free my paid membership was diminished.

I feel the overall goal for joining the association has been lost with
it being opened for free membership. What was to be an association as
an exclusive organization where people shared a vision became simply
on online directory service.

How can it now be sorted out to determine if all 600 members adhere to
the original vision of ethical practices and standards. In joining as
an original member, my intent was to be part of something that set me
and my business apart from others. Certainly as it stands now my
membership means very little. It may sound like something to a client
who doesn't know but really it's a simple tag w/o meaning.

I admire your moxie. I think you need to revisit your original vision
and seek selective input. Ask the original members why they joined.
Why were they willing to pay when 500 other were not (most certainly
it was not simply for the shirt).

As for the tech issues - yep most are consumer driven. I added a
profile right away and I reset my original password and could not get
back in, but the webmaster helped me out. I have never been able to
get into, figure out or get an answer about adding to the gallery -
which I would have liked to have pics in ages ago. But really I thin
the tech stuff for most all these sites simply needs to be a simple
how to page so folks can easily look up what they need.

Funny the tech stuff has become a bit of an issue because 90% of the
folks don't have any profile listed - and doubtful, unless it's
mandatory, they ever will. So their joining can't be for marketing ,
it seems it's more ego, seeing one's name in print.
