It's time to say goodbye. I wish it wasn't. Maxine is my best friend and there's a big empty place now. I hope her journey is an easy one. Last night, Joe called me to tell me that the family was gathering to say goodbye and taking Maxine off life support. The extent of her injuries are such that she could not survive without the life support nor enjoy any kind of quality of life. I did not speak to Joe since that phone call. It's earlier there and he may wish to be alone at the moment. While I have not actually confirmed that she has gone, based on my conversation with Joe, it is my belief that she is. Patricia posted on BalloonHQ after I spoke with her last night. As anyone who spoke to Maxine knew, her passion was getting youth involved in the celebration industries. She organized the Jump Start Jams as a way to raise funds to send interested and talented kids & teens to conventions so that they could increase their skill, learn more and catch more excitement about face painting and ballooning. She would be very happy if everyone who's life she touched went out and taught a kid or helped a kid get to convention. Thank you.
