Hey all, I have been meaning to make a post but have been away my computer for a while and since have lost the post people were making about kohl pencils. I know that some people were having problems with infections which is ironic because the kohl was invented by the Egyptians. The kohl was medicated and used on men, women and children primarily as a medicine to avoid eye infections and only secondly for cosmetic purposes. The kohl was a skinny stick/wand that was dipped in the black powdery medecine and laid on the inside shelf of the eye. The eye was then closed on the "wand" and the wand pulled out towards the outer corner of the eye giving that sexy cat eye the Egyptians were known for.
The application has changed over time and has become a kohl pencil but you can still find the original application primarily in the middle east and Egypt but on occasions companies like Gherlain cosmetics will also have it.
