Thanks so much Cindy and Sally for the KUDOS! Oh my gosh! What a an amazing
once-in-a-lifetime experience it was to paint 3 statues for the Ludacris and T
Pain performance on Saturday Night Live this weekend! I don't want to give away
all the details here, as I will write about the whole experience in the January
issue of the Face Painting and Body Art Magazine. I will try to post some pics
later tho ;o) The January issue will have several articles and pics about
unusual opportunities that face and body art has brought you to. If anyone in
the group has something they would liek to contribute, please e-mail me with
your experince and some high resolution photos of it, and hopefully we can
include that in the Janaury issue as well. ;o)

My talented team consisted of my friend, Sunha Fajardo (last years second
runner- up in the instructor contest at the FPBAC, in January. (She painted the
lovely, Mrs Captain Jack Sparrow. You could see a pic of that in the April
2008 issue of the FPBAM) Her husband Giovani was awesome as an assistant and a
wardrobe person (Yes, we had a wardrobe "malfunction" on stage, but luckily
only during rehearsal), and my sister Carole (Full Sail Film School make- up
and FX instructor) and my self. Both the ladies are instructors at the FPBAC in
January.

The painting itself took about 5+ hours. It HAD to be PG or the producer would
NOT have let them perform, thus bras tops and little boy shorts. were a must
(vs. pasties and G-strings)The dancers/models were in some stage of being body
painted/performing/ touch-ups and makeup removal, from 11:30 am -3:00AM! WHEW!
We hand painted with Wolfe black, (AMAZING coverage-Sunha is now a convert!)
Mehron gold and silver (What intense colors!) and airbrushed TEMPTU gun metal
(The perfect top coat shine and look we desired!) It was then all sealed with
Kryolan fixer spray. (Made touch ups minimal) Looks like we had all the bands
covered, as I painted detail with a SNAZAROO brush! ;o)

Last minute, the concept for hats, which we designed and hand painted, was
ditched for crazy hair to better complete the total look. Luckily, my sister
had come prepared for that last minute switch-a roo with an amazing product.
(Please join her at her "crazy hair" class at the FPBAC to hear her secrets!)

Best of all, the models were easy to work with, the client was happy, the SNL
folks were awesome, and the products worked like we needed them to. My closing
thoughts, for ANY successful opportunity: ALWAYS BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING and
THE CLIENT IS ALWAYS RIGHT ;o)

Happy Thanksgiving!
