I often miss things at conventions due to my travel arrangements - if
you plan it so tight you have to expect that sometimes you are going
to miss something. When you have limited time available to be away,
and have to fly back Sunday... you miss the last bit of fun. I missed
everything on the Sunday of the 2004 SF FABAIC... had to fly home to
be at work Monday morning and my flight was at 6:30 AM Sunday morning!

Seriously... consider that the convention planner(s) are working with
the hotel, the instructors, entertainment, staff and the vendors to
set things up to accommodate the majority. And things come up or
change causing a blip in the TENTATIVE published schedule. It
happens. The planners cannot be expected to worry about each
individual registrants travel schedule... or explain every variation
to the TENTATIVE schedule of the event.

I've been to lots of conferences/convention and even the schedule you
get on arrival is subject to change! Things I was really looking
forward to aren't even on the schedule anymore. Oh well... have to
pick something else. Often things get added on to the end too...
which really is annoying when you have to leave!!! So, I try whenever
possible to arrive a day ahead and leave the day after...
