Alright I finally have time to write about Cynthia's convention...
First
off, thank you to Lauren-Rae Chismar for rockin' my body painting to
the max! She was a wonderful model and I would love to paint her again
:) In fact, she was a great sport the entire convention and modeled for
almost everybody (face painting for most, body painting for Lisa Smiley
too) at one point or another.
Second, thanks to Susan McNeally
for helping me complete the crazy idea that was in my head. I wouldn't
have been able to finish it without you or your glitter! :P
Third, thanks to everyone that took my classes and for the compliments. I love
you all! :)
Now to raving about two instructors in particular:
Nick
Herrera taught the best Airbrush 101 class I've ever taken! I've taken
classes with Nick before and grabbed some ideas from the class, but it
didn't blow my mind. Well, he's really got his stuff together now. It
was so informative - and I've airbrushed before - that I was jotting
down notes like crazy. What were really interesting were his maintence
tips and tricks - specifics about what to do when your airbrush is
doing this, that, or whatever. My husband does a lot of the cleaning
and maintence of my airbrush equipment, so I know he'll be happy to
review my notes and put them into action. I was a huge fan of Nick's
work before, but now I know I can bug him for info too!
Alright,
I don't do balloons. But if I did, I would totally be taking Dustin's
(Shonna's son) classes! He's work in the Fashion show was soooooo cool.
He made himself into a Centaur, did crazy cool weaving for a
collaboration with Mark Reid, made our fish and fish bowl, and I'm sure
tons more! I love to see young talent at it's best!
It was
great to see friends and catch up over lunches, dinners, and late night
craziness! I also met some great people for the first time and loved
putting a face to a name. Next up, Kim Hatch's in CT! See you there!
