Hi

Just wanted to share with you all what a wonderful workshop I took yesterday
in Buffalo.

Paul Chudy (who never signs off his interesting emails with his real name)
was the ultimate host looking after our every need.

Class size was limited to about 12 - the perfect size for lots of sharing
and one on one help and instruction.

The focus of this workshop was to learn basic henna and get stared with
around 60 simple and moderately simple designs that can all be done in 2
minutes or less.

Included in the very reasonable fee for the class was a CD with practice
sheets, a file to make an amazing banner featuring a description and care
instructions as well as 7 pages of design choices (over 60 designs, I think)
, printable guide book/cheat sheets. and more.

We each got a little kit with the CD, instruction book (very comprehensive,
a pre--made cone, a squeezie bottle with metal tip, glitter, essential oil,
contact information for further supplies and more. Everything we needed to
get thru the day and more was in that kit.

Maddy started with a basic review of henna and it's history, how and when it
is used today, what black henna is and why it is so bad, resources for
further information, supplies, ideas, etc.

She demonstrated how to make the henna (following the instructions in our
booklet) and let us get a feel for the correct consistency needed.

Then we got to play with the henna using both our cones and the bottles. She
gave us a few tips individually and as a group on how to work with it,
steadying your hands, how to shade the henna and more.

Maddy checked in with us quite a bit answering all of our questions and
making sure we were 'getting' it.

At the end of the day, we all went to a local restaurant where Paul works
weekly. We got to see Paul in action making balloons and Maddy doing henna
for people.

All in all, it was a great day. I learned lots and have started collecting a
few supplies to put together the small kit I need to get started. I have a
couple of agents who keep asking me for henna....so I know I'll have the
chance sell my new skill in the near future.

If you get a chance to take any class by Maddy (selling, painting, henna or
more) jump at the chance. If Paul is hosting it, you'll be comfortable, well
informed, you'll learn a lot and have a fun day with this kind and
thoughtful host.
