Hello! Please pass this information along to whomever you think would be interested.
I am teaching two face painting classes on March 16 and 18, 2009 - one for beginners, and one for intermediate painters - a nuts-and-bolts approach geared toward perfecting face painting skills, being exposed to new techniques and tricks, and expanding ones portfolio of work. If you don't want to read further, just go here for all the details: http://www.magickalentertainment.com/FPClasses.html For beginner painters, we'll focus on how to use the different kinds of makeup, what tools are important for the kit, how to use the different brushes, basic sponge and brush technique, drawing skills and simple color theory, learn basic designs, and some networking tips. For the intermediates, we'll do a short review on kinds of makeup, color theory, basic sponge and brush technique, and then get into more high-level techniques such as line work "boot camp", sponge techniques using two or more colors to achieve a perfect blend, and how to use highlights/shadows to make your work pop out. We'll also touch on some of the new popular painting techniques. Both classes will include a bonus section about photography. We'll discuss how to photograph your work to show it off in the best ways, how to pose models, basic lighting, and the importance of photographing your work in general, using the photos as a learning tool. A professional photographer will be on-hand in the class to photograph work half-way through, and at the end of the class, and then those digital photos will be emailed afterward, for your records. To round it all out, we've scheduled a face painting jam one week after the classes (attendees from both classes are invited), to reinforce what is learned in the class. (Most likely Round Table Pizza - great place to paint and eat!). Here is the link to all the information: http://www.magickalentertainment.com/FPClasses.html March 16, 2009 Beginner Class: $60 (not including materials) March 18, 2009 Intermediate Class: $85 (not including materials) Location: Debbie Lyn's Costumes in Sunnyvale, CA Payment options: credit card, check, Paypal Please note that specially-created face painting kits will be available for purchase, should you need one, or you can purchase additional materials before and after the class. A nice discount will be given with registration - 15% off the face painting kits, or 10% storewide if you don't need a kit (this is a great place to stock up on costume and makekup supplies!). Debbie Lyn's will be open for an extra 1/2 hour after the class for this purpose. To register for the class, please email me off-list, and I will give you more details. Thanks!
