Level 1  Beginners Face Painting
Days 1 through 3
April 27, 28, 29 (Mon-Wed)

April 27 - DAY 1: Basic Face Painting Techniques: 9-6 PM
Theory/Practice: AM
Practice Sessions: PM

A workshop for beginners and intermediates. Presentation of products
and tools, hygiene and security rules. Sponge and brush techniques,
color blending and combinations (loading, application, shaping,
strokes).  Theory and practice exercises in morning.  Demo followed by
practice sessions late afternoon.

April 28 - DAY 2: Advanced Face Painting Techniques:  9-6 PM
Theory/Demonstration: AM/Early Afternoon
Practice and Group Critique Exercises: Late Afternoon

Introduces the students to more advanced sponge, brush and line
techniques/effects,   (double loading, line shading, advanced
strokes)

This workshop introduces students to new, exclusive self and group
critique/analysis techniques, which is key to further understanding
concepts developed during Day 1.

April 29 - DAY 3: Synthesis of Day1/2 plus:
Physical/Corporal Positions for Sitting or Standing : 9-6 PM
Theory/Demonstrations/Exercises: AM
Practice Sessions with Specific Exercises/Group Critique: PM
If you have taken a previous workshop with Olivier, you can take just
this one day workshop.
If you are approved to take this one day, the fee is $150
(prerequisite: only advanced students of Olivier Zegers)

A complete synthesis of Day 1 and 2 of the workshop.  It will help
students to understand and experience their own particular physical
relationship to:  the model’s face position WITH the brush or sponge’s
position. This exclusive method helps to maintain better control of
sponge and brush movements, for high quality work and maximum comfort.

Theory, demonstrations and small exercises are given in the morning,
while practice sessions with specific exercises and group critiques
are made during the whole afternoon.

IMPORTANT :  The completion of three days of Level 1, gives you access
to an exclusive internet Level 1 Study Group, where students can post
photos of their work, and practice at their own pace/rhythm.  Special
exercises, critique and/analysis are offered to help you integrate
theories/exercises learned from the Level 1 Workshop.  Completion of 3
days also allows you to attend an evening jam led by Olivier after his
U.S. Tour – stopping in NYC on his way back to Belgium

Because you will be taking Workshops Day 1 & 2 and most likely Day 3
and will qualify, do you have interest in possible advanced classes
with Olivier Zegers in Brooklyn, NY?  As he will be touring the U.S.
in the Spring, there is a possibility that on his way back, he can
stop in NYC to have one of these 3-day workshops (after the special
jam with him with his advanced students).

ADVANCED WORKSHOPS
Morphology and Facial Expressions (3 Days)  (Prerequisite: Level 1
Only) _____
Introduces an understanding of  human face shape, using colours for
highlights/shadings, as well as lines and designs transform the face
by creating 3D effects. How to develop facial expressions (smile,
sadness, etc.),  how to develop specific animals by using “reduction”
techniques, and other morphologic concepts.

Creative Techniques (3 Days)    (Prerequisite: Level 1 & 2) ____________
For those ready to learn how to develop their creativity or their
personal style.
Introduces the students to new and exclusive concepts , like
inspiration techniques, improvisation techniques, space organization
and development of a design, connection and focal points, style
development, colour play ( color wheel, contrasts, etc. )  Techniques
of self and group critique/analysis, creative theories & concepts.
Includes the group and/or personal use of the creative game, that has
been developed since 2003
Each student who achieved the third level will receive a signed
exemplar of this game.
