Got this from our city and thought it was worth passing on--sorry for the last
minute notice,I hadn't heard about it until today.

I've been backstage at my son's school production of "Wiz of Oz" doing
costumes and selling desserts--no news, radio, phone, internet!

If any of you are in the area tonight is the final AWESOME performance--these
kids have really put themselves out there to give a great show!
Even flying Monkeys and Glinda in a bubble!! (7PM--Dixie Hollins High School)

---on with the green thing---that's not the Emerald City!

One Hour Can Make a World of Difference

On Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. One billion people around
the world will be switching off their lights as a vote against global warming.

The City of Clearwater, the World Wildlife Fund, and other municipalities
around the world invite residents and businesses to voluntarily turn off their
non-essential lights in support of Earth Hour, a global event that makes a
powerful statement on climate change.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million residents and business
owners switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008, the message had grown
into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people conserving
electricity. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco,
Rome's Coliseum, the Sydney Opera House, and the Coca Cola billboard in Times
Square all stood in darkness.

One hour appears to be not a lot of time; however, multiply one hour of energy
use by our many partners around the world, and we significantly impact the
environment.
