Good morning! (well, it feels like morning to me...)

Got back from the trip to Japan last Thursday, and I'm still trying to
recover. I didn't really feel any jetlag effects while I was over there, but
boy is it catching up with me now!

Got home on Thursday afternoon, had to play cello at a funeral on Friday
morning, take my daughter to her viola lesson that afternoon, spent time
with family in town (for the funeral) that evening, then spent the next two
days painting at the regular weekend gig. Today is officially crash day for
me!

I must extend my deepest heartfelt thanks to Lucie Brouillard for giving me
the opportunity to take this job in Japan. She has been doing this for the
past 9 years (I think this would have been the 10th year?) and had a
conflict this year, so she kindly gave them my name as one of her
recommendations for a replacement. This festival, called the Daidogei World
Cup in Shizuoka, Japan, is basically a huge celebration of street
performers, aka buskers. All different acts from dozens of countries are
invited to attend and perform in the center park and streets of Shizuoka
city, and there are close to 2 million people who attend each year (perhaps
more by now?).

Liz Small has participated along with Lucie for a couple of years, and it
was SO nice seeing Liz again! We had an absolute blast, and I am so thankful
that Liz was there to guide me and teach me the ropes ;)

Anyway, photos from the trip are posted on my Facebook page, and also on my
client galleries at www.amadazzle.com <http://www.amadazzle.com/> from
October 27th - November 4th (http://amadazzle.com/October2009.htm,
http://amadazzle.com/November2009.htm).

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and experience. I am so happy to
have been a part of it!
