I met Pat Newton at the East Coast Convention and I truly hated to hear of her
passing. It truly sucks especially after she fought for so long to hang on. I
am truly and deeply saddened. Even though it is tough, at times like this we
should try and remember Pat for all her happy moments in life and how blessed
that we all are that we had the chance to know her. I have never met Tom
before, but we should show him as much support as possible, whether it be
emotional or financial. For being in the hospital for 10 months I can only
imagine the drain on their bank account due to high hospital bills, so if
people could make donations to help with those bills, or even grocery store
gift certificates and/or restaurant gift certificates would also be helpful I
would imagine.

Margi Kanter lost her boyfriend fairly recently as well. I met him at FABAIC
and he was a super nice guy, not to mention super talented. When we read about
the loss of our face paint family's loved ones, we can't really imagine the
true sense of sadness that they truly endure. We should remember though that
even when they have their game face on, they are still deeply hurt by their
loss. Any support we can give them, including extra time spent with them means
a great deal. As part of our face paint family, we owe this to them.

Please do not delay in showing your support to them both.
