OK, thanks, this cleared up some stuff. Seems that another way will be needed. If it will be possible at all. I don't see how if you can't have per-thread signal handling...
*handling* (such as, like I proposed, waiting on a mutex stored in TThread - which also puts the thread in a non-cancellable state) is per-thread. It's just the default actions "terminate" and "stop/continue" that affect the whole process
