In that case, it just plain dumb!  I don't know of a single commercial
package that doesn't benefit from extensions by external developers.

* Microsoft Shell (thousands)
* OS/2 Workplace Shell extensions (thousands)
* Nokia's Qt - extended to be called KDE
... the list goes on!

All these that I mentioned and many more, all meant the commercial
package became more popular and more used. Isn't that what commercial
entities want?
