I suppose Unicode strings could be done better in a (slightly) incompatible way. (e.g. allowong for as well decently code-agnostic (never converted) RawByte, RawWord and RawDWord strings as for decently dynamically coded "Flexy-Strings" that are auto-converted when necessary), with a decent definition of what happens when Normal (predefined coding) String Types, "Raw" and "Flexi" strings are used in combination.
