only if _all_ authors put their authorsihip togheter
then an alternate release with a different license
is possible. the best what was done in past from
such a situation in other projects was a call for
objections and only if no one objected they did
the step of going the risk for an alternate license.

I hardly ever talk on these lists anymore, but since someone is
complaining about the GPL... I'm happy with the GPL. I see no
significant reason to change it. If someone wants a special license for
the source, maybe you can enter into an agreement with them specifically
to license the current snapshot of the source to them and them alone for
certain stated purposes. (The level of restriction would depend on the
license asked for.)
Just be careful.
