You need the new users to stick, not just to try it. Specially if you have to do a lot of trouble to increase the numbers only a bit. This is different from the really popular projects where small efforts can huge changes in usage.

It is not bad to work at release engineering and default behavior of the IDE, but it should be more focussed on what can be done with limited means without changing course, rather than wild new plans.
