Rectangles and regions. Not tested well BTW. I used it for the MSEgui OpenGL 
backend.
Non rectangular region definitions are normally converted to rect-regions 
first before doing operations AFAIK. segmentellipsef() can be used to stripe 
an ellipse for example.
