Ok, so I finally got fprint_demo-0.4 and libfprint-0.4.0 to compile from source on debian 6.0 (squeeze). Quite a few dependancies!
I have not installed fprintd, because aget many packages, i am stuck on Requested 'gio-2.0 >= 2.26' but version of GIO is 2.24.2 but, AFAIK, fprintd shouldn't be necessary for fprint_demo to work? Or am I wrong? anyhow, fprint_demo starts up, but just gives me a "Status: No Devices Found" error. here's the lsusb output: Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0483:2015 SGS Thomson Microelectronics TouchChip Fingerprint Reader Bus 002 Device 002: ID 80ee:0021 VirtualBox USB Tablet Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub the funny thing is that a) 0483:2015 is listed as 'supported' on the website, but it's called some different names. b) many moons ago, i did get this particular reader to work, on some old ubuntu version c) there seem to have been some changes to the driver in the last couple of years: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.fprint/2096 So, what am i doing wrong? How can i get this to work? M. _______________________________________________ fprint mailing list [email protected] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/fprint
