I tested quickly on my desktop and seemed to work reasonably well. I run opensuse 11.0 with kde3. If I have time soon, I will try to make some rpms for it using the build service I setup for the fprint project. Btw, one small criticism, could you have everything in the archive inside one root directory? That way, when I untar, it doesn't pollute my working directory.
