Hi all -

Just want to let you all know the following hardware has been tested to
work. (It's not currently listed in the supported devices list)

Laptop: HP Pavilion HDX9494nr with AuthenTec AES2501 Fingerprint Sensor

lsusb output: "Bus 001 Device 004: ID 08ff:2580 AuthenTec, Inc. AES2501
Fingerprint Sensor"

OS: Ubuntu 8.10 x86_64 [distro is Ubuntu Ultimate Edition 2.0]
Kernel: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic
Desktop Environment: GNOME 2.24.1 (Ubuntu 2008-10-24)

The install instructions work without incident, and I was able to register
my prints via both the console and GUI interface.

I see that it's accepting (waiting for) my print scan when I log in, but
without prompt.

The UI interaction is not exactly what I expected, but after reading posts,
the hardware does appear to be functioning as it should. To clarify what I
mean by UI interaction - I had hoped I would be able to log in by just a
print scan, with no username/password needing to be passed. From what I've
read so far, this project does not provide print scanning in that manner.

If I've been incomplete, too complete, or this post is out of band I
apologize, but this looked like the place to post the info.

Good day and good work,
   - Joe
