I also have this same fp reader (notebook Compal JHL90). I tested in
the past with upek software (downloaded from their site) and it
worked. However, it is x86 only and I use x86_64. Also, fprint seems
to be more widely used. With fprint, I didn't make it work in the
past, even forcing the use of all of the three upek drivers. It was
some time ago, I guess the beginning of this year, and maybe things
have changed. I have the usb traffic captured for the working upek
software but, at this moment, no one seems to be interested on it (I
offered it in the fedora bug report).
So, good luck and, please, report any new success.
And for those on the list, I still have the usb traffic. :-)
