Valued fprint-Developers!

There are quite some reports about libfprint not working on some modern device,
just as on my Lenovo W510.
Please see the debian bug-reports:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=585179
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=584563

I cannot enroll a fingerprint on my Lenovo W510. This seems to be a problem of
libfprint0 itself, or at
least is a general problem with the 147e:2016 device.

I get:
# pam_fprint_enroll
This program will enroll your finger, unconditionally overwriting any selected
print that was enrolled
previously. If you want to continue, press
enter, otherwise hit Ctrl+C

Found device claimed by UPEK TouchStrip Sensor-Only driver
Opened device. It's now time to enroll your finger.

You will need to successfully scan your Right Index Finger 1 times to complete
the process.

Scan your finger now.
Enroll failed with error -22
--------
So, the error is the same.

I am using Debian Squeeze, version 20080330+git-4 as counted by Debian.

As I find fingerprint-scanning in moderate security cases highly practical
compared to long passwords all
the time, I would be very thankful for your help or insight regarding the
problem. Maybe at least an
estimate could be made, how hard it could be to resolve the problem and if it
can be done at all.

Thank you in advance, and have good time,

Mazze
