I sure would appreciate some support from you all
... it's kinda lonely up here.
The major issue in front of the con com is the
emergency road they want to build connecting Brimstone Estates/Woodstock with
Brimstone Lane. This involves crossing a river that is home to a fragile
ecological environment as well as ruining a beautiful, pristine forest. The
reasoning behind the road is that if Brimstone or Woodstock is blocked, the
emergency department from the other direction (Sudbury or Framingham) could get
to the site. This has NEVER been an issue in the history of either road, and the
site of the crossing will do nothing to allow access to the most likely area on
Brimstone that could possibly be blocked (the L curve past my house.) The plan
is also to run a sewer line down Brimstone and below the bridge on the emergency
road. We all know that this is to facilitate him hooking up sewer to the ANR
lots he hopes to build on Brimstone. That emergency road could also someday be a
regular road -- you can bet the school buses would prefer it to get to the
houses on Brimstone -- and then we have the issues with a cut through through
Carter/Woodstock/Brimstone to Route 20.
I have a summary of the wildlife report done by a
consultant on the area where the road is going. If you're interested, I'll be
happy to send it to you.
