Deb Something great, historic, fun, family and free is happening Sunday, Feb. 2 (tomorrow) at Nevins Hall. Charlene Frary, who organized the restoration of our Civil War soldier, is now focusing on the restoration of our Victory memorial near the Court House. To focus attention on our local historic sculpture, Charlene has arranged for Framingham to host a National traveling exhibit, "Preserving Memory: America's monumental legacy," for the month of February in Nevins Hall. To kick off the exhibit, under the aspices of the Framingham Historical Society and Museum, Charlene and Nick Paganella, Lynn Stoller, and Susan Silva, and other volunteers have organized an opening celebration from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. The celebration includes a talk by Steve Herring, a concert by the popular Waltham American Legion Band, and art activities for the kids, re-enactors from Red Coats to Rough Riders, as well as exhibits and refreshments by Richard's Cafe. Free balloons for the kids. The program starts at one, but come anytime between noon and 4. For further information contact Charlene at 508-877-3556, or visit www.framingham.com for full details and schedule. Even if you can't make the event, try to find time to visit the exhibit during the month of February.
